Throwback Thursday – Timewarp Triumph Trophy

IMG_2601This stunning original 1991 Triumph Trophy 1200 was in for its MOT yesterday.  This Trophy belongs to Richard Hebblethwaite who bought the bike new at the official launch of this model.  It’s been serviced by us ever since.  The first 100 Trophys built went to Germany and this bike is approximately number 90 from the next batch of 100 bikes, making it one of the earliest Trophies on the road.

Back in May 2015 we held an Open Day and invited owners of older Hinckley Triumphs to bring their bikes along to display.  We had an amazing turnout of excellent bikes from which we had to pick a winner to be entered into a national competition.  We chose Richard’s bike as it impressed us with it’s total originality and low mileage – a real time-warp machine (it’s only covered 11,000 miles from new).

We submitted the entry to Triumph and  Richard won an overnight stay in Hinckley with a factory tour and dinner with key members of the Triumph GB team.  Here’s a photo of the Trophy taken whilst on that visit to Hinckley, right outside the factory where it was built.
