Here’s a quick overview of the full range of Triumph Modern Classics for the 2017 model year. There’s also a link at the bottom of the page which takes you to a virtual version of Triumph’s brochure which covers all these bikes along with accessories and clothing.
Let’s start with the 900cc models. First up is the Street Twin which was launched to rave reviews late last year. The Street Twin is powered by an all new 900cc ‘high torque’ 8 valve, parallel twin engine which delivers a massive peak torque figure of 80Nm at a low 3200 rpm – that’s 18% more than the previous Bonneville, delivered low down and across the whole rev range.
The Street Twin features sharp, refined stripped back styling, ripe for customising to add your unique stamp to the bike.
Next we have the recently launched Street Cup. Born from the stripped back style of the Street Twin, it delivers a stunning street racer attitude, with a host of new urban sports features, such as an authentic bullet seat, removable café racer seat cowl, dropped ‘Ace’ bars, dedicated rear suspension and new Nissin twin piston sliding front caliper.
The new Street Scrambler is the latest addition to the range and comes with a host of purposeful scrambler features, including an interchangeable pillion seat and aluminium rear rack, removable pillion pegs and hangers, adventure style front pegs and bash plate. The dedicated new chassis has longer rear shocks, a 19 inch front wheel, wide handlebars and a low seat height. Fitted with Metzeler Tourance tyres, the new Street Scrambler is designed to deliver real capability and control on every type of road.
Rounding up the range of 900cc bikes we have the all new Bonneville T100 and T100 Black. The new Bonneville T100 is inspired by the legendary ‘59 Bonneville and has been beautifully designed to incorporate many of the original’s iconic features. The T100 has a wealth of quality finishes, including high-value brushed aluminium engine covers and classic unique bolt-on Triumph badges. Like all Triumph Modern Classics, the T100’s engine has that charismatic 270° firing interval for an immaculately smooth, linear power delivery through the smooth six-speed gearbox.
Moving on to the 1200 cc models, we have the Bonneville T120 and T120 Black. The authentic character of the Bonneville T120 comes to life through the all new 1200cc ‘high torque’ 8 valve, parallel twin engine. It produces a massive peak torque fiqure of 105Nm at a low 3100 rpm – an amazing 54% more than the previous generation Bonneville. The T120 features some lovely detailing, including deep chrome multi piece badges, grab rail, wheel rims and innovative twin skinned chrome exhaust headers and pea shooter style silencers.
The Thruxton brings you cafe racer style and attitude coupled with the latest rider focused technology. This bike comes with a ‘low inertia – high performance’ 1200cc engine featuring a lighter crank and airbox unique to the this model. This engine delivers a massive peak torque figure of 120Nm at a low 4950 rpm – an amazing 62% more than the previous generation Thruxton. The sharp and imposing styling includes a wealth of high quality details like the slim sculpted petrol tank and a unique flip-up ‘Monza’ fuel cap.
The Thruxton R takes the Thruxton theme to the next level, with uprated Ohlins adjustable suspension and Brembo brakes. Like all Modern Classics, a huge range of accessories are available to enable you to personalise your bike.
Finally we have the awesome Bonneville Bobber. Recently launched, it has become Triumph’s fastest selling bike ever. Deposits are being taken now for delivery in Spring 2017. A genuine Bonneville and factory custom Bobber that’s both iconic and authentic. Clean lines and low stance, single seat, wide flat bars, minimal bodywork, wide rear wheel and that all important hard tail look add up to a classic Bobber experience.
